The lunch special is a little bit oily to me but the baby chicken with mushroom and fried pork in sweet and sour sauce are amazing.
They are also famous for their dumplings. Giant steamed dumplings -

Came here because the hubby and I wanted to eat some dumplings with the in-laws. His mother highly recommended this place and even before we sat down, she ordered FOUR plates of dumplings and other appetizers while my husband ordered something along the lines of braised pork (I think?). Anyway, as a warning, FOUR PLATES is definitely TOO much for four people - and I thought uncle's mumblings about not being able to finish because it was 80 dumplings was an exaggeration (spoiler alert: it really wasn't).
So overall, each plate holds 20 cooked dumplings depending on which type you ordered. Out of the four variations we had, I liked the regular pork with chives better and the other pork with pickled(?) veggies (I'm not too sure how to put this in english but the veggie in it smells kinda sour and it tastes a bit sour with pork). The other ones we got were with fish (only good with hot sauce - I guess to mask whatever residual fishiness) and pork with dill (?? not sure, maybe it wasn't dill but it was so pungent that I cannot keep eating it.) The pork was also fantastic! But don't get the pork feet (I didn't even touch it but from what everyone was saying, it was super bland and not tasty!).
Overall, the place was okay but I'm not sure if I'm willing to go back. If I do, it'll probably be for the regular pork and chives dumpling and the braised pork! (minus a lot more dumplings haha) -

Today I was told there is no lunch special. They messed my order and missed one item.
Is amazing how different an experience can be in a 3 week span.
Not really satisfied -

Actually I was in his branch in 14th st, named Liaoning Fandian in Google Maps.
Long time since I ate Northeast cuisine and I felt so good this time. The price is friendly and the taste is good! -

Any place you can take your pregnant wife to that makes her happy gets an automatic 5 stars. Food is authentic North East Chinese(Dong Bei 东北菜)
As a vegetarian, the dry pot potatoes (not on menu, but on menu board near kitchen) were pretty good (I ordered w/o meat).
The green bean jelly noodle (mung bean) was very nice with a strong hint of mustard with a nice sesame sauce.
She feasted on the braised pig shoulder- portion enough for three people.
We ended up taking half the food home as left overs
If you are looking for white glove service, this place ain't it. If you are hungry and want real Chinese food, come here.
